The reverse is equally well appointed, featuring cupboards, allowing the desk to stand freely within a room—perfectly suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors. The top is inset with a hand-finished leather writing surface (later replacement), exquisitely decorated with gilt and blind tooling, providing a refined and practical workspace while complementing the desk’s overall elegance.
